A military commander of Goryeo. His Japanese reading is "Kin Hokei". His pen name is Hon-ryeol. His given name is Chung-ryeol. He was from Andong (North Gyeongsang Province). He was ordered to pursue the Goryeo Sambyeolcho (anti-Mongolian army) Rebellion from 1270 to 1273, and he captured Jindo (South Jeolla Province) and Tamra (Jeju Island). He was highly valued by the Yuan Emperor Kublai Khan, and in 1274 (Bun'ei 11), he led 8,000 Goryeo troops as a commander-in-chief of the Goryeo army and invaded northern Kyushu in Japan (Bun'ei War). He was later exiled to Daecheongdo (South Chungcheong Province) by the Yuan military commander Hong Cha-gu, but was soon pardoned. In 1281 (Kōan 4), he led 10,000 soldiers as the head marshal of the Goryeo army and attacked Kyushu, following the Eastern Army (Kōan War). He was a military commander of Goryeo who was in league with the Mongol side, and was the leader of the Goryeo forces during the Mongol invasions.

高麗の武将。日本語読みは「きん・ほうけい」。字は本烈。諱は忠烈。安東(慶尚北道)の人。1270年から73年の高麗三別抄(反モンゴルの軍隊)の乱に当たり,その追討使を命じられ,珍島(全羅南道),耽羅(済州島)を攻略する。元皇帝フビライに重用され,文永11(1274)年,高麗軍の将中都督として高麗軍8000人を率いて日本の北九州に遠征する(文永の役)。その後,元の武将の洪茶丘により,大青島(忠清南道)に流されるも,まもなく赦免される。弘安4(1281)年,高麗軍の都元帥として1万の兵を率いて東路軍に従い,九州を攻撃する(弘安の役)。元側に通じた高麗の武将であり,元寇時の高麗軍の指揮者である。<参考文献>山口修『蒙古襲来』,旗田巍『元寇』
