Kabuki Kyogen. Historical piece. The original work is five acts, but the existing register is missing the fifth act, making it four acts and seven scenes. It was written by Tsuruya Nanboku IV, who was 75 years old. It was first performed at the Edo Nakamuraza in November 1829 (Bunsei 12). It is a Kaomise Kyogen that intertwines the plot of the puppet theater piece Hidakagawa Iriai Sakura in the world of the former Taiheiki. Nanboku claimed to be a once-in-a-lifetime performer, but he died during the performance, making it his last work. The cast includes Tahara Fujita Hidesato, Bando Taro Aritake Fumi as Iyo no Jō Sumitomo, Fujiwara Tadafumi, and Kyogen performer Masuroku Fumi as the ghost of Kiyohime Tadafumi, played by Nakamura Shikan 2nd (later Utaemon 4th), Takiyashahime Fumi as the dead souls of Soma Masakado, Shoji's daughter O-Kiyo and Hidesato's wife Yabashi, played by Segawa Kikunosuke 5th, Oashihara Shōhei and Yotsuzuka Daisaku Fumi as Iga Jutaro, Mita Nin and Yasaka Jozo, played by the first Arashi Kanjūrō, Sumitomo as Jutaro's son Kongōmaru, Tahara Chiharu, and Kisaragi Nun Fumi as Shōhei's sister Mikuriya, played by the first Mimasu Gennosuke.

歌舞伎狂言。時代物。原作は5幕であるが，現存台帳は五建目が欠けて4幕7場。4世鶴屋南北75歳の作。1829年(文政12)11月江戸中村座初演。前太平記の世界に人形浄瑠璃の《日高川入相花王（ひだかがわいりあいざくら）》の筋を綯交（ないま）ぜた顔見世狂言。南北は一世一代を称したが，上演中に没し，絶筆となる。配役は田原藤太秀郷･坂東太郎有武実は伊予掾純友･藤原忠文･狂言師升六実は清姫忠文亡霊を2世中村芝翫（しかん）(のちの4世歌右衛門)，滝夜叉姫実は相馬将門亡魂･庄司娘お清･秀郷妻矢橋を5世瀬川菊之丞，大芦原将平･四ツ塚大作実は伊賀寿太郎･箕田任･八坂浄蔵を初世嵐冠十郎，純友実は寿太郎一子金剛丸･田原千晴･如月尼実は将平姉御厨を初世三枡源之助など。
