A military commander in the late Heian period. Son of Takenori, the younger brother of Kiyohara Mitsuyori, the head of prisoners of war in the northern Dewa region. Younger brother of Takesada. One of the "Kiyohara family genealogy" records that "Shogun Saburo lived in Iwaki County, Oshu." There is a theory that it should have been Iwate County, since Iwaki Castle is too far south, but since Iwaki is a strategic location where Nakoso Pass was located, it is thought that Takenori, who became the Shogun of the Chinjufu, stationed his third son there. In 1083 (Eiho 3), the Gosannen War broke out, and when his nephew Iehira defeated Mutsu no Kami Minamoto no Yoshiie at Numanoki, he sided with his nephew, believing that defeating a famous general would be a great honor for the family, and moved his base to Kanazawa no Ki. He fought well against the siege of Yoshiie and Kiyohira's forces, but was attacked by soldiers. He became discouraged and turned to the enemy's vice-commander, Minamoto no Yoshimitsu, and offered to surrender, but Yoshiie did not accept his offer, and he was beheaded on November 14, 1281, when Kanazawa no Ki Castle fell.
