A book on natural sciences written by physicist Hoashi Banri. Eight volumes in total. He completed the first draft around 1810 (Bunka 7), but discarded it himself as it contained errors. He began writing again in 1835 (Tenpo 6), and although he completed it the following year, he was not satisfied and continued writing around 1842. In the end, it was not published during his lifetime, and part of it was published after his death in 1856 (Ansei 3). The contents include the original calendar (calendar), the greater world (stars, galaxies), the lesser world (solar system), the Earth, gravity (optics, mechanics, etc.), the atmosphere (gases), aeration (weather), and life (flora, fauna, living things, etc.). It does not just introduce Dutch scientific books, but also criticizes them and presents his own unique views. It shows modern scientific thought and a critical attitude towards science.
