Green [town] - Midori

Japanese: 緑[町] - みどり

A former town in Mihara County, in the central-southern part of Awaji Island, Hyogo Prefecture. Since dairy cows were introduced in the early Taisho period, it has been the center of dairy farming on the island, with a condensed milk factory in its central Hirota area. Fruit cultivation of grapes, peaches, mandarin oranges and other crops is also thriving. Onions and Chinese cabbage are also produced here. Shitoori in the west is the birthplace of ancient Shizuori textiles. In January 2005, it merged with Seidancho, Miharacho, and Nandancho in Mihara County to become a city, Minami Awaji City. ^{27.89 km2} . 6,353 people (2003).

兵庫県淡路島中南部，三原郡の旧町。大正初期に乳牛を導入して以来，島内酪農の中心となり，中心の広田に練乳工場がある。ブドウ，モモ，ミカンなどの果樹栽培も盛ん。タマネギ，ハクサイも産する。西部の倭文(しとおり)は古代の倭文織(しずおり)の産地。2005年１月三原郡西淡町，三原町，南淡町と合併し市制，南あわじ市となる。27.89km²。6353人（2003）。
