"Kujo Shakujo" - Gujo Shakujo

...It describes the virtues of the shakujo, a ritual implement, and consists of several articles. For each article, the shakujo maker recites the opening phrase, after which everyone sings in unison and rings the shakujo at the end of the article. There are two versions, "Sanjo Shakujo" and "Kujo Shakujo." The first and second articles of the former are the same as those of the latter, and the third article is a different text with the same content as the ninth article of the latter, but the former has a more complex melody. There are also differences in their uses, such as the "Sanjo Shakujo" being used for Shikahoyo (four memorial services) and the "Kujo Shakujo" being used for the Horaku at the end of a memorial service....
