Japanese: 傾城買四十八手 - けいせいかいしじゅうはって

A sharebon (traditional Japanese story). Written and illustrated by Santo Kyoden. 1 volume. Published in 1790 (Kansei 2). It has chapters on "The Slow Hand," "The Easy Hand," "The Missed Hand," and "The True Hand," each showing the various tactics used by courtesans to buy courtesans, and describes the various types of negotiations between courtesans and customers. It is a representative work of the Kyoden sharebon genre in that it is moving from simple "pursuits" to psychological descriptions.
