Grass roots democracy is the term used to describe the conscious participation of local residents in politics through local movements and other means. In many places in the United States, local residents actively participate in politics and politics is run by the residents themselves, and this type of local politics is generally referred to as grass roots democracy. It is not a classic citizen democracy by wealthy and educated citizens, nor is it a mass democracy that is unusually rallied around a mass movement or mass leader, but a form of democracy supported by the everyday political participation of the masses. It is an idea put forward by the Progressive Party, which separated from the Republican Party (USA) in 1912, and was later adopted by the Republican Party in the 1930s, and the term became popular. → Related Articles Door-to-door Visits Source : Heibonsha Encyclopedia About MyPedia Information |
