Hemiptera, Heteroptera, Heteroptera, Hemiptera. It is named after the stink bug that feeds on Japanese laurels. In mountainous areas, they invade homes in large numbers in the fall and hibernate in attics. During this time, they leave the house when the heating is turned on, and if they are crushed, they spread a bad smell, making them a so-called nuisance pest. Body length is about 16 mm. The body is dark brown with irregular yellowish brown dots. The ventral surface is reddish brown. They live on many fruit trees, including cherry, plum, and peach, as well as Japanese laurel and mulberry, and are known as fruit pests because they suck young fruit, causing them to drop or become deformed. They are distributed in Honshu, Shikoku, Kyushu, the Ryukyu Islands, the Korean Peninsula, and China.
