...If the ground is good, a thick layer of concrete may be poured directly. If the ground is weak, piles may be driven into the ground (pile foundation work), or piers (columnar structures) or caissons may be used as foundation work. When installing a structure on the ground with pile foundation work, it is necessary to use a combination of splitting and pouring concrete.
