Kinrinji Temple

〘Noun〙 (The name comes from the fact that Emperor Godaigo had a tea caddy made from ivy in the mountains when he practiced the Ichiji Kinrin ritual at Kinrin- ji Temple in Yoshino.) A type of tea caddy used in the tea ceremony. Made from ivy wood in a cylindrical shape, it is lacquered on the outside and black on the inside, and is used for both thick and thin tea. Konrinji. 〘名〙 (後醍醐天皇が吉野の金輪寺で、一字金輪の法を修した際に、山中の蔦(つた)で茶入れを作らせたところからいう) 茶道で、茶入れの一つ。蔦材を筒形に作り、外は溜塗り、内は黒漆塗りで、濃茶、薄茶ともに用いる。こんりんじ。
