Metal deposits

...A deposit is a geological phenomenon that results in the accumulation of elements, minerals, and rocks that are useful to mankind. In general, there are two major categories of deposits: metallic deposits, which are formed and concentrated in minerals that are primarily composed of metallic elements, and non-metallic deposits, which are formed in minerals and rocks that contain large amounts of halogens, sulfur, phosphorus, etc. Recently, however, they have also been classified as fuel deposits, which include deposits that contain elements used in nuclear power, such as uranium deposits, in addition to petroleum and coal. There are many other types of deposits, such as rocks used for special building materials and unconsolidated deposits consisting mainly of metal sulfides found in ocean ridges.
