A 13th century French author (Trouber). Date of birth and death unknown. Adne was his nickname, and officially he was called "Adane the Musician." He served Henry III, Duke of Brabant, and after his death Guy de Dampierre, Count of Flanders, and in 1270 he joined the Crusades and went to Tunis. He is known for rewriting the heroic poems of the previous century in the style of romances (narratives) in 13th century verse French, and his main works include "Boubon de Comarcis," "Ogier, Knight of Denmark," "The Belt of Great Foot," and the epic romance "Cleomades," which has nearly 20,000 lines.
