…Spanish guitarist. In 1952, he composed the music for the French film “Forbidden Games” directed by Rene Clement, and popularized the Spanish folk song “Romance of Love” around the world, which made him an instant hit. He is known for his proactive work, including the invention and development of a resonant 10-string guitar (a guitar with an extra 4 strings on the bass side of the usual 6, for the purpose of taking advantage of the harmonic effect), and for overcoming the Segovia-like playing style and introducing a modern sensibility.
