…A general term for pottery with a bluish devitrified white glaze that was fired in various parts of northern China from the Song and Yuan periods onwards, mainly in Yu County, Henan Province, which was called Kunzhou during the Jin and Ming dynasties. Some pieces have red and purple speckles caused by the coloring of copper, while others are gorgeously covered in purple, red or indigo glazes.
