Prince Oshikabe - Prince Oshikabe

Japanese: 忍壁皇子 - おさかべのみこ
Prince Oshikabe - Prince Oshikabe

…His mother was Princess Kajihime of Shishihito Oomaro. He was also called Prince Oshikabe and written as Oshisakabe. He was involved in the establishment and enforcement of the Taiho Code. …

From Taoism

...In other words, in 684 (the 13th year of the reign of Tenmu), the Emperor established the eight ranks of surnames, and used the Taoist theological terms "Shinjin" and "Doshi" for the first and fifth ranks, and after his death, the three characters "Okinomahito" (Mahito), which directly express the Taoist belief in immortals, were used as his posthumous name (Shinjin). Furthermore, according to Kakinomoto no Hitomaro's "A Song Dedicated to Prince Oshibe - Poetry of the Form of Immortals" in Volume 9 of the "Man'yoshu," Prince Osakabe is presumed to have had faith in or a strong interest in immortals, and Prince Kadono, the son of another princess, Toichi, wrote a Chinese poem in the "Kaifuso" entitled "Playing at Mount Ryumon," located northeast of Yoshino, in which he sang, "How shall I find peace in finding Wang Qiao's path, and, bearing a crane, enter Hoei" ("Wang Qiao" is the name of an immortal; "Hoei" is the name of the island of immortals).
