Fogbow - Kirinji (English spelling) fogbow

Japanese: 霧虹 - きりにじ（英語表記）fogbow

A white rainbow seen in fog on the opposite side of the sun, with a visual radius of about 40°, centered on an extension of the line connecting the sun to the observer. The outside is bluish and the inside is reddish, but the center of the rainbow band is pure white. Sometimes a second rainbow with reversed colors is seen inside the first rainbow. The cause of fog rainbows is the same as that of normal rainbows, but because the fog particles are small, less than 100 μ in diameter, the colors overlap each other and appear white.
