Saizō Kirigakure - Saizō Kirigakure

A fictional character created in the 55th volume of the Tachikawa Bunko, "Kirigakure Saizō," and one of the "Sanada Ten Braves." Saizō, the orphaned son of Kirigakure Danjōzaemon, a vassal of the Azai clan, a feudal lord in the Kohoku region, learned ninjutsu from Momochi Sandayu, a master of Iga-ryū ninjutsu, and became a master of the art after learning its secrets. After becoming a retainer of Sanada Yukimura, he played a major role in the Siege of Osaka alongside Sarutobi Sasuke, a master of the Koga-ryū ninjutsu, and plagued the Tokugawa forces.

「立川(たちかわ)文庫」第55編『霧隠才蔵』により創作された架空人物で、「真田(さなだ)十勇士」の一人。江北の大名浅井家の家臣霧隠弾正左衛門の遺児才蔵は、伊賀流忍術の百地三太夫(ももちさんだゆう)に忍術を学び、その極意を受けた忍術名人となる。真田幸村(ゆきむら)の家来となってからは、甲賀流忍術使いの猿飛佐助(さるとびさすけ)と並び、大坂の陣では大活躍、徳川勢を悩ます。
