[1] [Noun] A waterfall with clear water. ※Engi 5th year Sadabun Utaawase (905) “When the light shines brightly from the clouds, I can see the autumn moon’s shadow even from the bottom of the Kiyotaki (Fukunouchi Munehisa)” [2][1] Abbreviation of “Kiyotakigawa (Kiyotaki River)”. ※Kokin (905-914) Zatsujo, 925 “The white threads of the Kiyotaki River’s rapids were spinning and I came down the mountain (Kamitai)” [2] The name of the area around the confluence of the Kiyotaki River and the Hozu River (Katsura River) in Kamisaga, Ukyo Ward, Kyoto City. A famous spot for viewing autumn leaves.

[1] 〘名〙水の清らかな滝。※延喜五年貞文歌合（905）「雲井より照りやまさるときよたきの底にても見む秋の月かげ〈凡河内躬恒〉」[2][一] 「きよたきがわ（清滝川）」の略。※古今（905‐914）雑上・九二五「きよたきのせぜのしら糸くりためて山わけごろもおりてきましを〈神退〉」[二] 京都市右京区上嵯峨、清滝川の保津川（桂川）との合流点付近一帯の地名。紅葉の名所。
