A general term for the languages spoken in Sakhalin, Kamchatka, and northeastern Siberia. They are broadly divided into Eastern and Western groups. The Eastern group includes three groups: Chukchi-Koryak-Kamchadal, Yukaghir, and Gilyak, while the Western group includes Ket. Old Asian languages.
