Fisheries Census - Gyogyō Census

Japanese: 漁業センサス - ギョギョウセンサス

This is a core statistical survey conducted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries every five years to compile statistics on the fisheries structure. It surveys the employment status, type of fishery, current status of business establishments, number of employees, etc., targeting fishing management entities, fisheries management associations, fishing cooperatives, fish markets, freezing and refrigeration plants, fish processing plants, etc. It is a complete survey. The first survey was conducted in 1949.

漁業構造統計を作成するために、農林水産省が5年ごとに行う基幹統計調査。漁業経営体、漁業管理組合、漁業協同組合、魚市場、冷凍・冷蔵工場、水産加工場等を対象に、就業状況・漁業種類・事業所の現況・従業者数等を調査する。全数調査。第1回の調査は昭和24年（1949）。
