Vortex Pump - Kuryu Pump

...A screw pump works by rotating two or three interlocking screw rods to produce a pumping action, and is mainly used for oil pressures of several to 20 MPa.

(1) Vortex pump Also called a friction pump, this pump rotates an impeller with many grooves on the outer circumference of a disk attached to a shaft at high speed, and the liquid sandwiched between the outer casing and the outer circumference of the impeller flows around the circumference as the impeller moves from the suction port to the discharge port (Figure 6). It is smaller than a centrifugal pump and has a low flow rate, but can generate relatively high pressure, and is widely used as a pump for domestic wells.
