Liaodong Province - Liao Dong Province (English spelling)
The former name of a province in China. It was established in 1949 and had jurisdiction over the area that is now almost eastern Liaoning Province, but was abolished in 1954 and most of the province was merged with most of Liaoxi Province to become Liaoning Province. However, some areas were incorporated into Jilin Province. [Kano Michihiro]
