Born on September 25, 1791. Born into a wealthy merchant family in Arida County, Kii (Wakayama Prefecture). He took over the Edo branch of a sugar wholesaler. He studied under Okubo Shibutsu and became acquainted with Hirose Kyokuso and others. During the Tenpo era, he worked to relieve the poor in his hometown, and at the end of the Edo period, he proposed coastal defense measures and organized peasant soldiers. He passed away on January 16, 1881. He was 83 years old. His real surname was Kakiuchi. His given name was Yasusada. His other pen name was Keikin.
