A seaweed in the family Centipediaceae of the order Craclandulares, red algae. It grows on rocks in calm areas of the intertidal zone. The thallus is 1.5-2.5cm wide and can sometimes reach 60cm in length. It has a cartilage-like hardness and a beautiful red color. The edges and leaf surface have many protrusions of almost the same length. It is distributed along the central coast of Honshu, the inland seas, western and northern Kyushu, and Hachijojima. 紅藻類カクレイト目ムカデノリ科の海藻。潮間帯の波の静かなところの岩に着生する。葉状体は幅 1.5~2.5cmで,長さはときに 60cmに達することがある。軟骨のような硬さで,美しい紅色である。その縁と葉面にほぼ同じ長さの突起がたくさんついている。分布は本州中部沿岸,内海,九州西・北部,八丈島に及ぶ。
