Silky Terrier

Japanese: シルキー･テリア[種]（英語表記）silky terrier

A pet dog that originated in Australia. As its name suggests, this dog has a beautiful, long, soft, silky coat. It was developed in the 19th century by crossbreeding the Australian Terrier with the Yorkshire Terrier. In its home country, it is also called the Sydney Silky or Australian Silky Terrier. It is lively and curious, and is sensitive to the owner's feelings. The coat color of the body is blue or silver blue, a turtledove color, and this is accented by the dark brown of the muzzle, eyebrows, base of the ears, and limbs, which harmonize and emphasize its beauty.

原産地がオーストラリアの愛玩犬。名称のように絹糸状の長くて柔らかい美しい被毛のイヌで，19世紀にオーストラリアン･テリアを基礎に，ヨークシャー･テリアを混血して作出された。原産地では，シドニー･シルキーまたはオーストラリアン･シルキー･テリアとも呼ばれる。快活で好奇心に富み，飼主の気持ちに敏感に反応する性質をもっている。毛色は体部がブルーとかシルバー･ブルーと呼ばれる山鳩色で，これと口吻（こうふん），眉毛，耳のつけ根，四肢の濃い褐色がアクセントとなって調和し，美しさを強調している。
