Japanese: 企業福祉 - きぎょうふくし

Among the various welfare measures for the stability of workers' lives, this refers to welfare facilities and various welfare activities that are mainly operated at the expense and management of companies. The scope of these is wide-ranging, including housing, medical care and health, school meals, supply of goods, hairdressing and beauty, daycare centers, celebrations and condolences, mutual aid, loans, retirement benefits, social insurance surcharges, education, entertainment, physical education, and recreation. Unlike public welfare policies of the state and worker welfare projects (worker welfare movements) by labor unions and cooperatives, these are mainly carried out by companies, and therefore labor management functions such as worker retention, improved efficiency, stabilization of labor-management relations, and inclusion within the company come to the forefront.

労働者の生活安定のための福祉諸施策のうち，主として企業の費用負担と管理で運営される福利厚生施設や各種福祉活動をいう。その領域は，住宅，医療･保健，給食，物資供給，理美容，託児所，慶弔･共済，貸付金，退職給付，社会保険付加金，教養･娯楽･体育･レクリエーションなど多方面にわたる。これらは，国家の公的福祉政策や労働組合および協同組合による労働者福祉事業(労働者福祉運動)とは違って，企業が主体であるところから，労働者の定着，能率の向上，労使関係の安定と企業内包摂などの労務管理的機能が前面に出る。
