Oriental Cook Book (English)

…The “Congee Book” (1581, Huangyun) is the only book on porridge in China, containing 238 types of porridge and rice porridge. In 1889, a Chinese-English bilingual book called the Oriental Cook Book was published in Shanghai, and is useful for learning about late Qing cuisine, for which there is little information available.
