Japanese: 企業団地 - きぎょうだんち

This refers to a complex in which land is prepared, divided, and developed based on a comprehensive plan to accommodate a group of businesses, such as factories and stores. There are large industrial complexes such as those for automobile factories and related factories, small and medium-sized business complexes for consolidating or streamlining the stores and factories of small and medium-sized businesses, and commercial complexes (distribution complexes) that bring together wholesale markets, wholesale districts, warehouses, truck terminals, etc., but industrial complexes are the most important of all. When developing an industrial complex, facilities for preventing pollution, such as roads, ports, electricity, gas, water supply and sewerage, and sewage treatment, are completed in advance, and in most cases there are strict regulations regarding site use, construction regulations, and the amount and content of wastewater.

工場や商店などの企業群のために，総合的な計画に基づいて土地を造成，区画割りし，用地開発を行って企業群を収容した団地をいう。自動車工場とその関連工場のような大規模な工業団地，中小企業の店舗･工場を集団化あるいは合理化するための中小企業団地，卸売市場･問屋街･倉庫･トラックターミナルなどを集める商業団地(流通団地)などがあるが，なかでも工業団地が重要である。企業団地造成の際には，道路，港湾，電力，ガス，上下水道，汚水処理など公害防止のための施設が事前に完備され，敷地利用や建築上の規制，排水物の量や内容についてもきびしく規定されている場合がほとんどである。
