Businesses that are required by law to enroll in health insurance. Businesses of national or local public organizations or corporations that employ full-time employees, and privately-run businesses that employ five or more full-time employees and engage in any of the following businesses stipulated in the Health Insurance Act (manufacturing, mining, electricity and gas, transportation, cargo loading and unloading, goods sales, finance and insurance, storage and rental, intermediary services, collection and information advertising, cleaning, civil engineering and construction, education and research, medical services, communication and journalism, and social welfare services). →Applicable businesses
[Additional information] Individual businesses such as agriculture, forestry, and fisheries, service businesses (hotels, restaurants, barber shops, etc.), legal services (lawyers, accountants, etc.), and religion (shrines, temples, churches, etc.) are not required to enroll in health insurance, and individual businesses with four or fewer full-time employees regardless of industry. The industries of businesses covered by health insurance are different from the statutory industries for individual business tax purposes.
