Administrative Investigation Department

...It was an external bureau of the former Prime Minister's Office, and was responsible for administrative management functions within the government, such as the organization and personnel management of administrative agencies, overall coordination of operations, the statistical system, and administrative inspections, and was an administrative agency responsible for promoting administrative reform. It was integrated into the newly established Management and Coordination Agency in July 1984. Its predecessors were the Administrative Research Department, the Central Administrative Inspection Committee, and the Statistics Commission, which were established in August 1946 in line with the administrative system reform policy of the Supreme Commander for the Allied Powers immediately after World War II. It was launched as the Administrative Management Agency in July 1948, and its responsibilities and organization were expanded through organizational reforms in 1949 and 1952.
