Agrippa of Nettesheim

German thinker. His real name was Heinrich Cornelius Agrippa. He was nicknamed Nettesheim, a village near Cologne, where his family was born. The Renaissance produced many universal geniuses or universal men, and he lived up to his name with a career and achievements that were worthy of his name. He studied at the University of Cologne, and at a young age became a courtier to Holy Roman Emperor Maximilian I. He later served as physician to the House of Savoy and taught philosophy at the University of Dor and the University of Pavia. He served as a military advisor in Spain and Italy.

ドイツの思想家。本名Heinrich Cornelius Agrippa。ネッテスハイムはケルン近郊の村で，一族の出身地であることからこの通称が生まれた。ルネサンスは数々の万能の天才または普遍人を生んだが，彼もその名に恥じない経歴と業績を残している。ケルン大学に学び，若くして神聖ローマ皇帝マクシミリアン1世の廷臣となり，後にはサボイア家に侍医として仕え，ドール大学，パビア大学では哲学を教授した。スペインとイタリアでは軍事顧問官となっている。
