In the late Kamakura period, the multi-layered order of manor rule, consisting of head family - ryoke - ayoroshi - jito and gesi (local governor) collapsed due to the division of land and other processes, and ryoke and jito divided manors among themselves and began to rule over unified territories. At this new stage, the previous shiki (official position) was replaced by the widespread appearance of the "kyushu position" (official position) which governed the land under the lord of the unified territory (ryoke or jito). Taking the Toji manor as an example, a new ruling system was adopted, consisting of the lord Toji (ryoke position or jito position) - kyushu (also called shomu position) - kyushu-dai (shomu daikan)...
