Later, carriages that waited for customers in specific locations on the streets and took them to designated locations in the city were called fiacres, which later became specialized as hackney carriages. Then, in the early 19th century, a light carriage called a cabriolet was born, which was introduced to England around 1820 and became a hackney carriage called a cab.
