[Loincloths and Folklore]
In rural areas, loincloths were called various names depending on the region, such as koshimaki, heko, hadaso, shitamono, kyafu, and yumoji, and their colors and patterns were chosen according to age and social class. In addition to being used as undergarments, loincloths have also served as work clothes for women since ancient times.
