...Daruma Aoki is a member of the Hime Aoki family, and is cultivated for ornamental purposes along with Hoshiten Hime Aoki, Hosoba Hime Aoki, and Hiroha Hime Aoki. There are many variegated leaves in Aoki, such as Amanogawa Aoki, which has spots scattered on the leaves, Fukurin Aoki, which has white spots on the border, and Nakafu Aoki, which has spots in the center of the leaves. There are also varieties such as Hosoba Aoki, which has thin leaves, and Kimino Aoki, which has yellow-ripened fruits. They are propagated by cutting new branches in July and August. ...
