Born in 1602. The eldest son of Okubo Tadatomo. In 1608, he became the second lord of the Okubo clan in the Odawara domain in Sagami (Kanagawa prefecture). He served as Magistrate of Temples and Shrines and Wakadoshiyori (young councilor). He devoted himself to the restoration of the domain, which had been devastated by the Odawara earthquake in 1613. He became a senior councilor in 1616. He passed away on July 25, 1616. He was 58 years old. His childhood name was Okura.
