Cypris larva - Cypris fairy

...The ovaries are located on the stalk, and the eggs are fertilized in the mantle cavity. The nauplii hatch and live a planktonic life, molting several times, becoming metanauplii and then cypris larvae. At the end of their planktonic life, the cypris finds a suitable base for attachment, releases adhesive substances from the cement gland at the base of the first antenna, attaches, molts, and takes on an adult form before moving on to a sessile life.
