Japanese: キバナシャクナゲ - きばなしゃくなげ

An evergreen small shrub of the Ericaceae family (APG classification: Ericaceae). The stems creep along the ground and the branches point upwards. The leaves are elliptical with rounded tips, leathery and almost hairless. In July and August, pale yellow, funnel-shaped, bell-shaped flowers measuring 2.5-3.5 cm in diameter bloom with 10 stamens. It grows in the high mountains of the Chubu region of Honshu and Hokkaido, and is widely distributed in the cold zone of East Asia.

ツツジ科（APG分類：ツツジ科）の常緑小低木。茎は地をはい、枝が上に向く。葉は楕円(だえん)形で先が円く、革質でほとんど毛がない。7、8月、淡黄色の漏斗(ろうと)状鐘形、径2.5～3.5センチメートルの花が開き、雄しべは10本。本州中部地方、北海道の高山に生え、東アジアの寒帯に広く分布する。
