Japanese: ホシカメムシ(星亀虫) - ホシカメムシ（英語表記）pyrrhocorid bug

A general term for insects of the Hemiptera family Pyrrhocoridae and Largidae. Pyrrhocoridae lack eyes and have four-segmented antennae. The small scutella are small. There are approximately 300 species worldwide, with eight in Japan. The two-spotted spotted bug Pyrrhocoris tibialis is 8-9 mm long and gray-brown in color. As its name suggests, it has two black stripes on the anterior lobe of its pronotum. Its anterior femora are thick and have a row of spines on the underside. It lives in colonies on the ground or under stones.
