An old city in Tyrol, western Austria. Population 8,574 (2001). Located at an altitude of 762 meters, it is one of Austria's leading winter sports centers. Numerous cable cars and ski lifts are skillfully combined, allowing you to enjoy downhill and tours. It has Austria's largest ski school, and many hotels and huts. Most of the tourists are foreigners. It is the birthplace of Anton (Toni) Sailer (1935-2009), the alpine triple crown skier at the 1956 Winter Olympics.
