His diary is called the Kikkaiki, and only the January diary from 1293, the August diary from 1302, the January and February diary from 1302, the intercalary December diary from 1305, and the January diary from 1306 remain. However, his younger brother Takanaga compiled a collection of Sadafusa's words and deeds and diary on court etiquette practices, called the Kikku-den and also called Yuro-koji. His waka poems are also included in the waka anthologies Shingosenshu, Zoku Senzaishu, Zoku Goshuishu, Shinyoshu, and Rin'eishu. …

…建武中興とともに父祖を越えて内大臣に任ぜられ，南北両朝の併立期には北朝に仕えのち南朝に走り，吉野に没した。その日記を《吉槐記（きつかいき）》といい，正応6年(1293)正月記，乾元1年(1302)8月記，同2年正月･2月記，嘉元3年(1305)閏12月記，徳治1年正月記が残存するにすぎないが，定房の有職故実に関する言動や日記を，弟の隆長が編纂したものに《吉口伝（きつくでん）》一名《夕郎故実》がある。また《新後撰集》《続千載集》《続後拾遺集》《新葉集》《臨永集》などの和歌集に，その和歌が収められている。…
