Lord of Hojo in Kariwa County, Echigo (Niigata Prefecture). As the lord of Umayabashi Castle in Kozuke (Gunma Prefecture) under Uesugi Kenshin, he served Kenshin in his strategy for the Kanto region for 18 years. After Kenshin's death, he settled in the Umayabashi domain and had successive lords, Takeda Katsuyori, Takigawa Kazumasu, and Hojo Ujinao. It is confirmed that he survived until 1587.
