...There is no consensus on how to count the seven clans, and there are various theories, such as Yokoyama, Inomata, Kodama, Tan (Tanji), Nishi, Noyo, and Murayama, adding Tsuzuki and Kisai instead of Noyo and Murayama, or adding Tsuzuki and Kisai instead of Nishi and Murayama. Most of them are said to be descendants of Musashinokami and Musashinosuke, and it is said that the Yokoyama clan originated with Musashinokami Takayasu, a descendant of Ono no Takamura, the Inomata clan with Musashinosuke Tokisuke, Takayasu's son, the Kodama clan with Musashinosuke Arimichi Ienori, the Tan clan with the succession of Musashinokami from the Tanji clan, the Nishi clan with Musashinokami Himatsuri Muneyori, and the Kisai clan with Musashino Gonnokami (surname unknown) Iemori. Both the Noyo and Murayama clans are descendants of Taira no Tadatsune of the Kanmu Heishi clan....
