…In the application of the Japanese Code, there are six types of status qualifications that can receive the privilege of being called "gi." These are: Gishin (relatives and relatives of the Emperor within a certain range), Gigu (a person who has been a close aide to the Emperor for many years and has received special treatment), Giken (a wise man and gentleman with great virtue), Gino (a person with outstanding abilities as a great politician), Giko (a person who has made outstanding achievements as a soldier or an overseas envoy), and Giki (a person of the third rank or higher).
