…Founder of the Mughal Empire in India. Reigned 1526-30. Born as a Timurid prince in Andijan, Fergana, Central Asia. His mother was a member of the Moghul Khan family. In 1494, after his father's death, he became the governor of the Timurid Fergana region at the age of 12. In 1497, he entered Samarkand and became the ruler of the Timurid Samarkand government, but abandoned it after only 100 days due to civil war in the Fergana region. In 1599, he succeeded in recapturing Andijan, and in 1500, he recaptured Samarkand from the hands of Shaybani Khan of Uzbek, but the following year he was defeated by Shaybani Khan in the Battle of Sari-Pul, losing his place in Central Asia. After many hardships, he turned to Afghanistan and conquered Kabul in 1504. …
