It was originally a lion dance performed by children at the gates of Tsukigata Village, Nishikanbara County, Niigata Prefecture, but today it has been passed down as a folk art form and is performed in the grounds of Hakusan Shrine at the Tsukigata Festival (Kakubei Jizo Festival) on June 24th and 25th. …
