Born on November 8, 1937. After entering the University of Tokyo in 1957, he joined the Communist Party. Later, he participated in the Communist League (Bund). As vice-chairman of the Faculty of Letters Alumni Association, he was involved in the Security Treaty protests, and on June 15, 1960, he clashed with police at a protest rally held by the mainstream All-Japan Federation of Student Self-Government Federations on the grounds of the National Diet, and died the same day.
