Official title - Kandona

Japanese: 官途名 - かんどな
Official title - Kandona

...Since the Heian period, the ceremonies for coming-of-age ceremonies and crowning ceremonies for nobles and samurai have been described in the Saiguuki, Gokeshidai, noble diaries, and samurai records. In particular, the custom of changing one's name to the name of the eboshi parent was established in the Heian period for samurai to wear eboshi. After donning eboshi in cities and villages, it was customary for those who reached adulthood to take official names such as Hyoe, Emon, and Daifu. These official names became fixed as family names, and in the Edo period they were passed down as family names. Coming-of-age ceremony [Nakamura Ken]
