...The plateau is extremely flat, but the elevation is highest at 90-100m in the southeastern corner adjacent to the Boso Hills, and 50-60m on the eastern edge, but drops to 20-30m in the western half and to about 15m in the northwestern corner. Although the surface is uniformly called the Shimosueyoshi surface and was formed at the same time, the elevation distribution is high in the southeast and low in the northwest due to the influence of the Kanto basin formation (a crustal movement in which the center of the Kanto Plain sinks and the periphery rises). There are no rivers that run through the plateau, but small and medium-sized rivers such as the Kuriyama River, Kashima River, and Kozaki River dissect the plateau, spreading out like arborescent valleys. ...
